After all the fireworks lose their flare, celebrations stop, tired eyes go to sleep- a new day starts of a new year. With all the happiness wished, how much different is the first of January in reality? How happy are you that day?
Today I got up early in the morning and took a walk in Dhaka city to find out just that. I walked and I took photos to share a few glimpses of human life, with all the happiness, hope and reality that the city has to offer.
I am not a photographer, these were taken with an iPod touch. I hope you appreciate my humble effort.

Khoka Vai is in his usual place, waiting for his daily saviors
For some, the day meant new hopes
For some, it meant old worries
Carrying new year's love in his hand
Awaiting the signal
Anticipating the first payment of the year.
Traffic Jam - if only I could turn it into fruit jam!
Some lines are there even if we don't like them
Be it the counter of Suhrawardy Medical or of a local bus
New tea!
What were flowers only yesterday, are garbage today
A little like us
First thrilling match of the year!
They might be retired, but they now move like a group of Kings without crowns
How was your first day of 2012?
