Silence

I wish to share a moment of silence,
With you, my heart.

A place before anything or any place,
Just the two of us,
Wrapped in the comfort of being.

A silence,
As if the writer is yet to
Decide on a name for her story.
Or maybe, the book is done,
And we are at the blank page,
Just before the back cover.

Those blank pages are important, you see,
They keep the page count right,
Even without any number in them,
The silent pages,
Help bind all the other stories—together.

Maybe our silence is like that?
Binding our past, and the unfolding future,
Neatly together?
Helping us make sense of it all.

Yes, let us rest a bit.
In this blank page.
In this silence.
My heart.
