A Birthday Party and the Influence of a Digital Camera

Photo Feature | Humor
This post may take a while to load completely as it has a few photos.

A few days ago I went to a birthday party; it was the 12th birthday of Mumu, she has been my neighbor (same building) for the past 8 years.

We, the polapain (youth folk) of our building went there to eat some good food. Mumu was with her relatives and friends in one room while the polapain were in Tanim vai’s (Mumu's elder brother) room. There were no official singing, cake cutting, candles etc there but we were happy anyway because Aunty cooks the best polau, chicken and vegetable.

After the meal, we were watching Faisal Vai play X-men game. I took up his digital camera and started to take photos. And that’s when the influence of digital camera started to show…

Simple pose for the beginning of photo shoot…

Rajan and Ayon Vai don’t really care if I take photos…

But everybody else wants to be in the photo as well…

Let’s make things interesting…

Ayon vai (crushed in the middle) no longer likes it…

Okay, enough for today…

What…?

Why so serious…?

Now we believe we got the Pulitzer Photography Award…

Definitely… (says Ayon vai on top)

After a while I stopped taking photos and the polapain were finally free from the influence of digital camera. I realize now that the digital camera holds magical powers that make people in front of it lose their sanity.

Freedom at last…
Farhan vai (bottom-left) could not be any happier!
